The Society of Friends, or Quakers, established the first meeting in Indiana in 1809. The Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends was first known as the Indiana Yearly Meeting of Friends (Hicksite), 1828-1900, then as the Indiana Yearly Meeting of Friends, General Conference, 1900-1975.
